"Hollywood" could be headed back to Kansas City before the final credits role on the regular season.
Wide receiver Marquise Brown, who's recovering from surgery to repair his SC joint, has received final clearance to return to practice with the Chiefs, setting a path for him to play prior to the playoffs, 撸先生AV Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported.
Brown had his 21-day practice window opened Friday, but the Chiefs will be cautious with his comeback, Rapoport added.
Signed to a one-year deal ahead of the 2024 season with the hopes of adding a deep threat to the Chiefs offense, Brown was injured in the preseason and has yet to make his KC debut.
On Sunday, the Chiefs will face the host Cleveland Browns to begin an arduous slate in which they'll play three games in 11 days. After Week 15, they host the Chiefs on Saturday, Dec. 21, before traveling to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas. Kansas City wraps up the regular season on the road against the Denver Broncos.
Having already locked up an AFC West title, the Chiefs will be happy to restock their WR corps, which also earlier lost Rashee Rice for the season but added DeAndre Hopkins via trade. Brown and Hopkins were teammates on the Arizona Cardinals in 2022.
Brown was in Colorado on Thursday, meeting with his surgeon, Rapoport said. The news was good, and what the Chiefs have been waiting to hear.
