Former Cardinals WR Marquise Brown signing with Chiefs on one-year contract for up to $11 million

Hollywood is heading to K.C.聽

Wide receiver Marquise Brown is signing a one-year deal worth up to $11 million with the Kansas City Chiefs, 撸先生AV Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday night.聽

It's a seemingly perfect landing spot for the man nicknamed "Hollywood," who moves on from the Arizona Cardinals in the hopes of providing Patrick Mahomes and the reigning Super Bowl champs with a big-play wideout they've been lacking as of late.

Though Kansas City claimed its second Lombardi Trophy in a row last season, the triumphant campaign was unlike those of past Chiefs glory, with the Mahomes-led offense often sputtering thanks in large part to ills in the WR ranks, whether it was a lack of big plays or dropped passes.聽

Brown will be looked upon to at least aid in remedying those ills.聽

A deep threat has been sorely missed in Kansas City since Tyreek Hill was traded to the Miami Dolphins two offseasons ago, and Brown is a 26-year-old former Baltimore Ravens first-round pick who has speed to burn. Brown's coming off two rather underwhelming seasons with the Arizona Cardinals (118 receptions for 1,283 yards and seven touchdowns combined), but he's heading into a completely different world with Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid.聽

Brown's best season came in 2021 as Lamar Jackson's top target, grabbing career highs of 91 catches and 1,008 yards.聽

On paper, Mahomes' offensive options have improved instantly with the burgeoning Rashee Rice and Brown likely serving as the Chiefs' top wideout options and tight end Travis Kelce cemented as the Super Bowl MVP's No. 1 target.聽

Somehow, someway, the Chiefs found their way to Lombardi glory despite their receiver troubles of a year ago, but the WR corps remained an area of need, and general manager Brett Veach addressed it by landing one of the top free-agent options in Brown.
