Packers QB Jordan Love (knee) downgraded to doubtful vs. Colts

Jordan Love's chances of making an improbable start nine days post-MCL sprain are dwindling.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback was downgraded from questionable to doubtful on Saturday, making it increasingly unlikely that he'll play through his recent knee injury in Sunday's game versus the Indianapolis Colts.

Love suffered the sprained MCL during Green Bay's Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last Friday, with the initial timetable for a return expected to be between three to six weeks, 撸先生AV Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported.

The Packers opted not to put their quarterback on injured reserve, which would have ensured he missed a minimum of four games, indicating they thought he could return sooner. And then throughout the week, head coach Matt LaFleur did not rule out the possibility Love could be well enough to play against Indy, saying Friday that he was "doing good" and getting better each day before the team initially deemed him questionable.

Whether that work will be enough to actually get him back on the field this week is still the question, though, and Saturday's news indicates that possibility is less and less likely.

Malik Willis is in line to be the starter if Love is indeed ruled out on Sunday. Willis would be backed up by Sean Clifford, who was elevated from the practice squad on Saturday.
