The Miami Dolphins are releasing Wilson just three days after officially acquiring the second-year offensive tackle, 撸先生AV Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Saturday. The team has since confirmed the release of Wilson.

There were several incidents that led to the Dolphins releasing Wilson, 撸先生AV Network's Tom Pelissero reported, per sources familiar with the situation. Wilson was hours late for his team physical and late for his onboarding process, and the 22-year-old didn't show up for voluntary workouts Thursday and Friday that he had previously committed to.
Pelissero adds that the Dolphins tried to support Wilson, but they are now moving on. The former first-round pick is now headed to waivers.
Wilson was acquired by the Dolphins via trade from the Tennessee Titans, who selected him No. 29 overall in 2020. The trade also included a seventh-round pick swap, with the Titans receiving the Dolphins' 2021 selection and Miami receiving Tennessee's seventh-round pick in 2022.
Wilson's troubles started last year in training camp with Tennessee and mounted throughout the season. Before even signing his rookie contract, Wilson was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list, and he'd be placed there again before landing on the NFI list ahead of Week 14 to work out personal issues. Wilson's rookie experience was limited to just three offensive snaps, and the Titans' frustrations ultimately led to him being traded for a mere pick swap.
Before he could prove to turn things around in Miami, Wilson was released after signaling that wasn't the case from the outset.
