Giants RB Devin Singletary happy to be running in Brian Daboll's 'fun' offense again

Devin Singletary has some mighty large cleats to fill.

Fortunately for the man they call "Motor," he's stepping into a situation with some familiar footing.

With Saquon Barkley having signed with the archrival Philadelphia Eagles, the New York Giants brought in Singletary to be their next RB1, reuniting him with head coach Brian Daboll.

The reunion with Daboll's system has brought a smile to the veteran rusher's face.

"It's fun to be back in this offense," Singletary said this week, via team transcript. "I feel like I'm gelling with the guys good."

Singletary's happy to be back in an offense that will allow him the opportunity to do just about anything.

"Man, you can do everything," he said. "You can catch the ball out of the backfield. They're going to hand you the ball off, obviously. You've got to be able to pass pro, but for me, pass pro is fun. I miss playing defense, so that's the way of me to get that feeling to be able to hit somebody. But that's the way it's fun for a running back."

The familiarity with the offense comes from Singletary having spent his first three 撸先生AV seasons with Daboll as his offensive coordinator on the Buffalo Bills.

Daboll took over as the Giants' head coach in 2022, while Singletary played his final season with Buffalo.

Singletary moved on to play for the Houston Texans in 2023 and turned in a career-high 898 yards rushing. He'll be looked on for a similar, if not better, output with the Giants.

"It's pretty similar," Singletary said of the Giants' offense in comparison to what he ran in Buffalo. "[Daboll's] put his own little spin to it, but it's very similar."

The soon-to-be 27-year-old believes the offense is still finding its identity, but is "off to a good start."

And the Giants are no doubt hoping that "Motor" will get running once more in Daboll's scheme. After all, the Bills went to the postseason in each season in which Singletary and Daboll were together.
