The Commanders have signed the No. 2 overall pick to his rookie deal.
Washington signed quarterback Jayden Daniels to a four-year rookie contract that includes a fifth-year option, the team announced on Friday.
Daniels' four-year deal comes with $37.75 million guaranteed that includes a $24.3 million signing bonus, 撸先生AV Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported.
The Commanders selected Daniels in April's draft in hopes of the Heisman Trophy winner blossoming into a franchise quarterback.
With a new regime in Washington, head coach Dan Quinn said this week that he has "no great declarations" of who will be the team's Week 1 starter yet. The team's quarterback room currently is filled with Marcus Mariota, Jeff Driskel, undrafted rookie Sam Hartman and Daniels.
Daniels, 23, spent his first three collegiate seasons with Arizona State and two more with LSU. During his final season with the Tigers, he threw for 3,812 passing yards, 40 touchdowns and four interceptions and chipped in 1,134 rushing yards with 10 rush TDs. He capped of his college career with 12,749 passing yards, 3,307 rushing yards, 89 passing TDs and 20 interceptions in 55 games played.
As Daniels heads into training camp locked in with his rookie contract, he will get a chance to strengthen his case for the starting job in Washington later this summer.
