Ja'Marr Chase has wrapped up a regular season fit for royalty.
The Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver has officially finished the 2024 撸先生AV campaign as a triple crown winner, having led the league in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns at the conclusion of Sunday's games.
Chase's final astonishing tally boasts 127 catches for 1,708 yards and 17 TDs after he posted a line of 10/96/1 during the Bengals' 19-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday.
"Feels good that I finally have it underneath my belt," Chase said of holding a big lead in all three categories following the victory. "I'm happy. I'm excited that I got it. And I appreciate Joe (Burrow) and the rest of the team for helping me accomplish it."
He became just the sixth triple crown winner in the Super Bowl era and the 13th all time (Green Bay Packers Hall of Famer Don Hutson accomplished the feat an amazing five times). The first to haul in a triple crown since the Los Angeles Rams' Cooper Kupp in 2021, the 24-year-old Chase is the youngest to pull off the feat in the Super Bowl era and since Hutson in 1936 at 23.
"It's an exciting thing to be a part of. He deserves it all," Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow said Saturday. "He works really hard for it. He's obviously a great player, a great person. To etch his name in history like that is really special, and I'm excited to be a part of that. I know everybody else is, too."
Entering Week 18, Chase had a healthy four-TD advantage over the Washington Commanders' Terry McLaurin and the Detroit Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown, but his eight-catch lead over St. Brown and 133-yard advantage over the Minnesota Vikings' Justin Jefferson, Chase's former LSU teammate, were at least somewhat reachable.
However, as has plagued most cornerbacks this season, Chase couldn't be caught.
Chase also set new Bengals franchise records for receptions and yards, while matching Carl Pickens' 1995 TD standard of 17.
It was an uneasy offseason and start to the 2024 campaign, with Chase believing he'd have a contract extension in hand. In hindsight, Chase not getting his second contract back then could be a major windfall as he'd be hard-pressed to author a much better season leading into the final year of his rookie deal.
